Multiple sources in Italy claim ex-Roma coach Paulo Fonseca has become Milan‘s primary option to replace Stefano Pioli next season and according to DAZN, the Serie A giants are ready to offer the Portuguese a two-year deal.

Several Italian sources claim Lille boss Fonseca has become the leading candidate for the Milan job in 2024-25.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Rossoneri see the former Roma tactician as the ideal replacement for Pioli next season.

The Italian broadcasters reported that Milan directors think Fonseca would give the project ‘continuity’ by using the same tactical system as Pioli. Furthermore, the 51-year-old has a ‘balanced’ personality on and off the pitch, which suits Milan’s style.

Fonseca has also attracted interest from Marseille, but he denied an agreement with Lille’s rivals last week.
