‘Pessimistic’ Skip Bayless sees Dak Prescott’s Cowboys finish with 8-9 regular season record
Jim Rassol / USA TODAY NETWORK

In light of the 2024 NFL schedule released on Wednesday Skip Bayless already has a prediction of how the upcoming regular season would look for the Dallas Cowboys. After the poor end of the 2023 season and the offseason inactivity, the Cowboys’ biggest fanatic has lost all hope in the team and can’t think of a season exceeding more than eight wins for them.

Bayless, who has already dismissed the Cowboys from the contender status, asserted that he has no faith in them making the playoffs in the upcoming season. Given, the team has a tough schedule in 2024 and a likely possibility of missing the postseason for finishing below .500.

This schedule to me has 8-9 written all over it. I’m looking at Philadelphia Eagles and they won the offseason, they won free agency to me…I’m gonna give them an A+ for free agency and I’ll at least give them an A for their draft and I give Dallas an F for free agency because they didn’t even try. Bayless criticized the Cowboys’ decision to draft Tyler Guyton in the NFL Draft, after having a complete silence in free agency, arguing he might be great in a few years but the franchise needs a capable player right now and Guyton is not ready to be great yet. He further questioned their decision to bring back Ezekiel Elliott, which he has also done previously.

Skip Bayless sounds alarm on Cowboys’ unresolved contracts

While appreciating how the Eagles not only signed and drafted potential players but also signed their existing roster in satisfactory deals. The Cowboys have yet to determine the extension of star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, who has expressed his frustration with the contract situation with the Cowboys.

We [Cowboys] still haven’t even done CeeDee Lamb yet. Is he going to hold of the camp? I don’t know what’s happening. And then, are we gonna give Dak [Prescott] a new long term contract? And what about Micah [Parsons] ? Skip Bayless quipped

Bayless argued that these unresolved contract situations are holding onto the team like heavy clouds. As the wideout is speculated to hold out until he is offered a satisfactory deal and Dak Prescott is open to embracing other opportunities after this season.
